Dehradun, September 4
Ministers in the state government belonging to the Congress will meet grass-roots party workers in Dehradun every Wednesday beginning tomorrow, said vice-president of the Uttarakhand Congress Suryakant Dhasmana at a press conference here today.
Dhasmana said the Congress ministers in the state government, including Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, had been asked to spare time and meet party workers at the party headquarters. “Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna will himself make a beginning and will be at the Congress headquarters in Dehradun from 5 pm to 6 pm tomorrow to meet the party workers,” he said.
He added Revenue Minister and state Congress president Yashpal Arya would meet party workers from 5 pm to 6 pm on September 12, Finance Minister Indira Hridyesh on September 19, Harak Singh Rawat on September 26, Pritam Singh on October 3, Surendra Singh Negi on October 10, Amrit Rawat on October 17 and Dinesh Agarwal would meet the party workers on October 24. All these ministers would be available at the party headquarters from 5 pm to 6 pm.
Dhasmana said this interaction programme was also aimed at apprising the ministers belonging to the Congress about the experiences of the party workers in the backdrop of the six months of the Vijay Bahuguna government.
He reminded the people that the Uttarakhand government, besides setting up a separate ministry for minority development had come up with an Urdu academy. He said the government was also working towards providing unemployment allowance to the unemployed of the state. “The Congress government in Uttarakhand is fulfilling all promises made in its election manifesto one by one,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dhasmana also appealed to the striking employees to keep faith in the state government and resume their duties. “The state government will protect the interests of all employees irrespective of their class and community
