Raja Rammohan Roy Academy celebrated its annual prize distribution day today.
The chief guest, director, Forest Research Institute, Dr Padam Prakash Bhojvaid, lauded the performance of students and exhorted them to excel in every sphere of life.
Bhojvaid said it was a proud movement for him to be in the academy as he affectionately remembered Raja Rammohan Roy whose name the academy carries. He advised the students to learn lessons to get good marks and at the same time keep in mind that the extra-curricular activities were also important to get good jobs in modern world. He also gave away awards to the students for achievements in curricular, co-curricular and sports activities.
Earlier, officiating principal Dr Preeti Saxena welcomed the guests. She also read out the annual report. Activity captain Komal Sajwan delivered a welcome speech which was followed by a Kathak dance portraying the Bhav Nritya.
The gold medal for ISC toppers for the science stream was awarded to Akshay Bhatia, for the commerce stream awards were given to Prachi Mittal and Rachit Raj Lath and for the humanities stream award was given to Nikhit Parveen.
Poonam Bhojvaid and other dignitaries were also present.
