The portals of the famous shrine of Badrinath will be closed for the pilgrims from November 18 in the wake of the winter season. The doors of the shrine, which was part of the famous Char Dham pilgrimage, would be closed at 3.25 pm, said chief executive officer BD Singh.

The portals of another Char Dham shrine, Kedarnath, will be closed from November 15 on the day of Bhai Duj. The four Char Dham shrines in the state, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath, are closed around this time of the year as the area remains covered under snow
