Dehradun, October 19
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna inaugurated the Khadi Tourism Industrial Farmers Development Fair at Nagnath Pohkri in Chamoli district today.

Stating that the government was committed to overall development of the state, he said owing to natural calamity, the development process was hampered. But now it would be resumed again.
He announced to establish a polytechnic college and construct a tourism guest house at Pokhri. He nominated Badrinath MLA Rajendra Bhandari as the Vice-Chairman of the 20-Point Programme of the state.
Bahuguna said 290 villages were to be rehabilitated for which the proposal had been sent to the Centre.
"The Centre has so far given approval for rehabilitation of four villages only," he said. Bahuguna said in the first phase, 90 very sensitive villages would be rehabilitated. He said a separate budget would be made for the development of hill regions.
The disbursement of unemployment allowance would start from November 9. "The government is committed not only to provide unemployment allowance, but also to generate employment opportunities in the state," he asserted.
The Chief Minister said Rs 100 crore would be invested in SIDCUL Phase-2. He also reiterated that the APL card holders would be provided 10 kg rice on the subsidised rate of Rs 6 per kg.
"The Centre has already given permission to purchase rice," he said.
The Chief Minister said a Cabinet meeting would be convened on November 3 at Gairsain in which several important decisions would be taken. Bahuguna said the honorarium of doctors had been increased to Rs 56,000 per month to invite doctors to work in the hills and soon 68 new doctors would be appointed.
Also present on the occasion were Garhwal MP Satpal Maharaj, Badrinath MLA Rajendra Bhandari, Panchayat Chairperson Rajni Bhandari, MLA Karnprayag Anusuiya Prasad Maikhuri and District Magistrate SA Murugeshan.
