Dehradun, October 19
Chief Secretary Alok Kumar Jain here today held a meeting to discuss preparations for the proposed Cabinet meeting to be held at Gairsain on November 3.

He directed the officials concerned to include programmes related to the development of the hill areas in the Cabinet agenda. He laid emphasis on preparing the programme which would yield concrete results and asked the officials to present the programmes as Cabinet notes.
He said these programmes should aim at improving the living standard of the people of hill region and open up employment opportunities for them.
Jain was told that boarding and lodging arrangements had been made at the GMVN guest houses at Gairsain, Gochar and Karnprayag and Kaleshwar Guest House. Besides, the Guest Houses of the PWD, the Forest Department, the ITBP and the BRO had also been reserved. The DGP has chalked out an action plan for security arrangements and traffic. Arrangements for ferrying government officers and mediapersons had also been made.
DGP Satyavrat Bansal, Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Om Prakash, Principal Secretary, Planning, S Ramaswami, Secretary, Tourism, SS Sandhu, Secretary, Information, MH Khan and other senior officials attended the meeting.
