TAnganwari workers today burnt an effigy of the state government in support of their demands.

Workers from all over the state took out a protest march up to the Lansdown chowk raising slogans against the unsympathetic attitude of the state government.
Their demands included Rs15,000 per month pay for Anganwari workers and Rs 10,000 for helpers and filing up of all vacant posts. They also demanded upgrade of the mini anganwari centres in the state.

The anganwari workers threatened to intensify their agitation if the state government failed to fulfil their demands.
