Students of Rishikul Ayurvedic Postgraduate College staged a protest on the college premises here today demanding that the semester examinations be conducted at the earliest.
The protesters alleged that the exams had been delayed by five months but Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University had not issued any notification in this regard so far.
They said they had taken up the issue with the university Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar and the college principal several times but no action had been taken.
Praveen Nautiyal, a student representative, said the delay could affect their career prospects. They urged the university to consider their demand on priority.
The students submitted copies of a memorandum to Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Health Minister Surendra Singh Negi and the Vice-Chancellor of the Garhwal University.
Meanwhile, a college official said the delay was at the end of the university, which conducts the exams.
