At a time when the education sector has almost been commercialised, a school in Purkal village near Dehradun has given a hew hope to poor students who wants to achieve big in life.

The managers of the school are charging nothing from the students and that has encouraged the parents to get their kids admitted to the school.

The school is overseen by a successful economist who left his well paying job in Mumbai to teach poor kids.

The economist GN Swami also teaches students at the school. The school that was started in a hut now boasts of every basic amenity that others schools have.

A student Prachi Pundeer, whose parents are labourers, has won a youth leadership fellowship.
After 15 years, the strength of students has reached to 300 from a mere 40.
