cid attack survivor Kavita Bisht was on Saturday made the brand ambassador of the women empowerment and child development department of the state.
Chief Minister Harish Rawat made this announcement to support the acid attack survivors.

According to a report published in The Times of India, Rawat's announcement comes a few months after Kavita's courage at dealing with the trauma associated with an acid attack was acknowledged by multiple women groups in Dehradun.
Kavita, 25, who hails from Golapar near Haldwani, had lost her eyesight after she was attacked by two men and acid was hurled acid on her face in September 2008. Her face was also badly disfigured.

CM Rawat said that Kavita was truly a role model for many women in the way she had overcome her tragedy and emerged as a source of inspiration for women in the entire state.
Expressing happiness at the state government's announcement, Kavita said that she felt motivated and empowered at the role being given to her.
