Uttarakhand forest authorities today captured a man-eater leopard in Jasvawala village of Roorkie in Haridwar district. The leopard had few days back mauled a three- year-old boy of a farmer.
Victim Rakib was in the fields along with his father Shamim and other siblings. While Shamim was busy in his agricultural works, a leopard picked up Rakib and escaped to the forest area. The mauled body of Rakib was later recovered.

Since then, villagers in Jasvawala village have been demanding prompt action. A day back the forest authorities installed a cage in the village following which the man-eater was trapped last night giving a sigh of relief to the villagers.
