Buoyed by favourable response to its budget food canteen in the heart of the city, Uttarakhand government has decided to open such affordable canteens at
Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) and Doon Hospital here too.
According to a press release, Chief Minister Harish Rawat has directed the concerned department to set up affordable food canteens under Indira Amma schemes at ISBT and Doon Hospital too.
He also asked the Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh administrations to open such food centres, the release said on Sunday.
The CM launched the 'Indira Amma Bhojanalaya' in the Ghanta Ghar area of the city on Independence Day.
A person can get a meal, comprising four rotis, rice dal, vegetable, sauce, and pickle at Rs 20 at these eateries. As part of the scheme, the government provides a subsidy of Rs 10 per Thali meal, the CM said.
