Dehradun: 31 August, 2015

The city police deployed additional police force in and around Parade Ground after taking note of the proposed protest rally by family member of the agitated constables, and head constables, here today.
Senior police officials, along with police constables and head constables, were remained at Parade Ground since morning but family members of the agitated policemen did not turn up for the rally. Senior police officials breathed a sigh of relief as the proposed agitation remained subdued.
It may be recalled that the agitated police personnel wore black armbands under “Mission Akrosh” to register antipathy against the state government on August 16.

The protestors alleged that they were deprived of the Sixth Pay Commission benefits with retrospective effect.

It is worth mentioning that Uttarakhand DGP BS Sidhu had announced to tender his resignation if he fails to remove pay anomalies of the agitated constables and head constables by December 31 in a message sent by him few days back.

The police department had already taken disciplinary action against police constables, who were found accused of circulating inducing messages among policemen on popular social networking sites and cell phones.

The most of agitated constables and head constables were from Dehradun, Haridwar, Uttarkashi, Almora, Udham Singh Nagar and Tehri districts.
