MP Bhagat Singh Koshyari inaugurated the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) at the city post office in Udham Singh Nagar headquarters Rudrapur on Tuesday. Residents of the district, who till now had to travel to Dehradun to get their passports done or renew them, welcomed the development.

“The centre will largely benefit the people living in this region,” Koshyari said. Regional passport officer, Dehradun, Rishi Angra said, “Appointments will be provided to 50 people every day. The appointment forms are available online. As of now, one counter has been opened and the infrastructure will be expanded in due course of time. The ministry of external affairs and the department of posts plan to open PSKs at every 50 km radius in the state.”
