Farmers across the country have once again landed on the streets. To get involved in the two-day protests involving demands like debt waiver and fair prices of crops, farmers are being assembled in Delhi under the leadership of the Kisan Left organizations across the country. This is being done to demand a minimum support price of one and a half times the cost of debt waiver and cost. This movement is under the banner of All India Kisan Sangharsh Samiti and this march is headed by Yogendra Yadav.
Thousands of farmers from all over the country started mobilizing the national capital on Thursday for a two-day demonstration to pressurize their demands including the debt and reasonable prices of debt. Farmers leaders said that farmers of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and other states will come of three big railway stations Anand Vihar, Nizamuddin and from Bijavasan, Sabjimandi and protest at four major routes in the national capital region.
All the farmers who march will be gathered on Ramlila Maidan till evening. The farmers of Delhi, Punjab and Haryana started coming up in the morning at 10:30. Kamlah, the official in the Delhi unit of All India Kisan Sabha told that the farmers have also reached the mound of Majunon, from where they will go to Ramlila Maidan. He said that we hope that till 3 pm, farmers from all over the country will come to the Ramlila Maidan.
Police said that they have made extensive arrangements for the rally on Friday (November 30). On that day the march will be from Ramlila Maidan to Parliament Road. Farmers’ supporters are requesting public to join the movement through social sites like Twitter.
Yongendra Yadav, political activist, tweeted that “women farmers who are going to start Kisan Mukti marcha greeted them in Bijasan. If you are not a farmer then come along with us too. Hold those hands that fill our stomach, Jai Kisan. Advocate Prashant Bhushan also tweeted that there was a need to stand with the farmers.”
