Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling has launched a scheme under which a member of every family in the state will be given a government job. Chamling launched this scheme called ‘One family, One job’ on Saturday. The benefits of this scheme will be given to those families whose members do not have a government job. Together, Chamling also announced the loan waiver of the people of the agricultural sector.
Chamling launched this scheme during the Employment Fair held in Paljor Stadium. At the same time he also gave a temporary appointment letter to 64 people (2 each from 32 assembly constituencies of the state). Meanwhile, appointment letters were issued to a total of 11,772 people during this period. Chamling is the longest serving chief minister in India.
Earlier, Sikkim Democratic Front Government had announced immediate employment of 20,000 youths under this scheme and now the candidates have been given appointment letters. At the same time Chamling says that soon members of other families will be given documents. The Chief Minister has also announced that these temporary appointments will be regularized in the next five years and all the beneficiaries will become permanent employees.
It is worth mentioning that new recruitment’s are being done in Group C and Group D of 12 government departments. In addition to providing information about jobs, Chamling said, “We are giving appointments for 26 different posts including guard, Gardner, ward attendant in hospitals, other health facilities, village police guard and assistant village librarian . ‘
Chamling says that it is a great pride for us and an opportunity of happiness for the youth of our state. While targeting the opposition, Chamling termed them as a divisive and said that his party will fight with their policies and programs.
