In protest against the terror attack, business and other organizations today registered a protest by dismantling a statue of terrorism in different cities of Uttarakhand. Traders closed the market in Dehradun and in other cities of the state. social and political organizations, including merchants, also took part in the protested. On Saturday, various organizations including Doon Industry Trade Board, Doon Sarrafa Mandal, Doon Valley Metropolitan Industry Trade Board, Bajrang Dal and Shiv Sena supported the Doon bandh. However, during shutdown, essential services remainied out of it. In the protest against the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, social organizations performed in the city and rural zones. In cities such as Almora, Pauri, Tehri, Srinagar, Khatima, Rishikesh, the residents demanded strict action against the Central Government by burning the effigy of terrorism.
In order to pay tribute to the martyrs who were killed in the Pulwama terror attack, the business establishments remained closed in place of Uttarakhand. During this, angry people came out on the streets and shouted slogans against Pakistan. Along with the salute to the martyrdom of the soldiers.
The markets wore a deserted look in many districts including Dehradun. Almost every business establishment was closed from Ballupur Chowk to Dehradun to clock tower. At the same time, traders paid homage to the martyrs in the Paltan Bazar.
Petrol pumps shutdown for five hours
The Dehradun Petrol Pump Welfare Association also announced to keep the petrol pump shut for five hours in the honor of martyrs. According to the decision taken in the meeting of the association, the petrol pumps of Dehradun, Vikasnagar and Mussoorie were kept closed from 9 am to 2 pm.
