How can it be accepted that Pakistan wishes to establish a peaceful relationship with India? Pakistan has been violating the ceasefire on the border for several consecutive weeks. It is also targeting people’s homes and checkpoints of Indian security forces.

On Friday, heavy mortar shelling started at 4:15 in the Nowshera sector of Rajori, adjoining the border. Along with this, Pakistan also targeted the Indian posts and villages adjacent to the border. On the other hand, in the Uri sector, people have left their homes and migrated to safer places, due to the heavy gunfire from Pakistan’s side.

On Thursday, Pakistan also targeted all the sectors adjacent to the Indian border. In the Nowshera sector of Rajori district, Uri sector including Baba Khodi, Kalal, Ganya Top, Manpur and Poonch districts and Mendhar sector in Balakot and Digvar sector were also included. On Thursday afternoon, there was a firing from Pakistan in about 80 kms radius from Balakot, Mendher, Mankot, Krishnagati, Salotri and Digvar Sector. Due to heavy shelling, the shops of the township of Mendhar were closed at four o’clock in the evening.

Woman killed in ceasefire violation, many injured

A woman died on Thursday in the village of Mendhar due to firing. The deceased woman has been identified as Ameen Akhtar (32). A soldier’s was seriously injured in a shootout in Manakot Sector in the ceasefire violation. He has been referred to GMC Jammu after primary treatment at local Hospital. The injured was identified as Zakir Hussain.

On the LoC on Thursday night, border left their homes due to the firing along the LoC.

Schools in Poonch and Nowshera closed

All public and private schools of Poonch and Nowshera have been closed on Friday due to tension. People have been instructed to stay inside their homes while making announcements in Poonch and Mendhar from the district administration. Earlier on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the district administration had ordered the closure of all the schools which came under the 5-km radius of Nowshera. Nowshera’s schools were open on Wednesday morning, but later they were closed.

High alert on IB

Stressful conditions have remained on the Indo-Pak international border in Hiranagar of Kathua. High alert on the IB is also continuing with violation of the continuous ceasefire along the LOC on Friday morning. Frontier villagers told that they have been instructed to stay at safe places on behalf of the security forces. The border people are also in panic because of the increase in the deployment of the army on IB.
