‘आखिर कैसे सभी चोरों के नाम मोदी है’ इस बयान पर पूर्व कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी को आज गुजरात की सूरत कोर्ट ने मानहानि मामले में दो साल जेल की सजा सुनाई। इस फैसले के 27 मिनट बाद कोर्ट ने उन्हें 2 साल की सजा और 15 हजार का जुर्माना भी लगाया। इसके कुछ देर बाद उसी कोर्ट ने उन्हें 30 दिन के लिए जमानत भी दे दी।

सजा मिलने के बाद राहुल गांधी ने इस पर अपनी प्रतिक्रिया दी। प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए राहुल गांधी ने कहा मेरा धर्म सत्य और अहिंसा पर आधारित है। सत्य मेरा भगवान है, अहिंसा उसे पाने का साधन। इसके अलावा उन्होंने एक ट्वीट भी किया जिसमें उन्होंने राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी के एक कोट को शेयर किया है।
सूरत कोर्ट ने उनको आपराधिक मानहानि के मामले में दोषी पाते हुए 15 हजार रुपये के जुर्माने के साथ दो साल कैद की सजा सुनाई। हालांकि उनको कोर्ट से ही जमानत मिल गई। लेकिन उनकी संसद सदस्यता को लेकर खतरा पैदा हो गया है ।
इस मामले पर हुई थी राहुल गांधी को सजा
राहुल गांधी ने 2019 में एक चुनावी सभा में कहा था, आखिर कैसे सभी चोरों के नाम मोदी है? शिकायतकर्ता के वकील ने दावा किया, उन्होंने पूरे मोदी समुदाय को टारगेट किया। वहीं राहुल गांधी ने कोर्ट में कहा, मैंने किसी समुदाय को बदनाम करने के लिए कोई बयान नहीं दिया था। किसी को हानि पहुंचाने का मेरा कोई भी इरादा नहीं था. मेरा उद्देश्य सिर्फ भ्रष्टाचार को उजागर करना था।
